Reducing energy consumption and costs in the water industry: how Vitens increased pump energy efficiency with minor process changes through advanced analytics.
This publication is part of our Energy Reduction by Condition-based Monitoring (ERGO) project, which aims to develop energy waste reduction features, based on system-level modelling and asset load monitoring over time.
Vitens partnered with Samotics to undertake a proof-of-value pilot at one of the production facilities. The aim of this pilot was to demonstrate the ability of Samotics’ continuous asset monitoring solutions to improve the performance and energy efficiency of critical pumps.
Samotics was chosen due to the performance they have shown in this area in the water industry. This case study highlights how this pilot improved the operational efficiency of a Vitens pumping station by more than 7% with the implementation of simple process changes.
