Flexible Sustainable Industrial Heat Event 2026

Share

Industrial heat accounts for around 80% of energy use and most CO2 emissions in industry. Electrifying heat – using technologies including heat pumps, e-boilers, and thermal storage – is therefore crucial for decarbonizing European industry.

To accelerate this transition, the Institute for Sustainable Process Technology (ISPT) has started an open-source project to develop and share knowledge about flexible process solutions. The goal is to support industrial decarbonization and allowing greater flexibility in the energy system.

During this event, we will present concrete detailed case studies and business cases that demonstrate how different electrification technologies can be effectively integrated. These technologies include heat pumps, e-boilers, and thermal storage, applied in both agro-food and chemical production processes in the Dutch industry.

As part of the program, you will visit the Atlas Copco Energas GmbH site, where industrial modular heat pumps and the compressors for the largest heat pumps in the world are being built.

Why attend?

  • Gain the latest insights on techno-economic aspects from real industrial electrification case studies
  • Understanding of operational flexibility (Demand Supply Response-DSR) and the impact of future energy costs
  • Discuss your needs and shape the approach for the next steps among others with support of the EU-funded HP4Industry project
  • Network opportunities with industrial experts and innovators
