This year the ISPT Conference proudly collaborates with the Port of Rotterdam (PoR). A promising co-production, as the 3 major transitions ISPT is working on (the energy transition, the materials transition and the agro-food transition) come together in the Port of Rotterdam.
Both parties see that a lot of time, attention and money is allocated to the energy transition, but hardly any to the raw materials transition, while the need and urgency are similar. Therefore the focus for this conference is on the raw materials transition, how it’s linked to energy transition and how that offers plenty of important opportunities for fully circular Dutch industry.
The ISPT and PoR Joint Conference is held on February 8, 2024.
Our shared message
To achieve a fully circular economy, we need a lot of energy. And that is precisely where opportunities lie for the Netherlands. Because, thanks to our coastal location, the Netherlands has access to large amounts of sustainable and cheap energy. Moreover, we have excellent sea, river and road connections to the European hinterland, giving us access to 450 million European consumers who want to live sustainably and circularly. This offers plenty of opportunities for a Dutch process industry that plays a pivotal role in Europe, with a strong focus on greening, CO2 reduction and closing cycles.
Our shared message at this conference is:
- The energy transition is already taking shape, now it’s time for the raw materials transition.
- Embrace our unique location on the water as well as our commercial spirit – both are assets.
- The availability of relatively cheap green energy makes Rotterdam and the Netherlands an attractive location for the energy-intensive circular industry.
- ISPT and the Port of Rotterdam can accelerate this transition and both play an important role in making the right choices in the chain.
Access to the conference is by personal invitation only.
