Prof. Vankelecom studied Bioscience Engineering at KU Leuven and obtained his PhD on membrane development in 1994.
Since 2002, he is professor at KU Leuven and is author of around 400 peer-reviewed papers with an H-index of 75, collaborated with more than 50 companies and has 30 patents. Main research is situated in the development of membranes for (solvent-tolerant and solvent-resistant) nanofiltration, RO, gas separations, membrane bioreactors, flow batteries and water electrolysis.
