Senior researcher at NTCP

Homer Genuino is a Senior Researcher at NTCP with an extensive career in chemistry, chemical engineering, and sustainability. He specializes in plastic waste recycling and catalytic biomass conversion. His key achievements include developing thermo-chemical recycling technologies for mixed plastic wastes, pioneering methods for converting biomass into fuels and valuable chemicals through catalytic processes, and developing and characterizing various catalysts for sustainable chemical production. Homer has also led numerous research projects, mentoring students and young researchers in sustainability.

Currently, Homer is engaged in projects such as InReP and TKI Chemie – AquaSurf. For InReP (a project within the CPI), he focuses on the characterization and pre-treatment of hard-to-recycle mixed plastics for pyrolysis. For AquaSurf, he works on methods for quantifying moisture and surface contamination in plastic wastes. These efforts support the conference theme of Circular Plastics by ensuring consistent quality of plastic waste feedstock, enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and stability of recycling operations, and contributing to a more sustainable plastic waste management system.
