While technological innovation is critical to achieve circularity in plastics, it’s important to recognize that the externalities extend beyond just technical considerations.
The technical challenges we want to solve have a direct relation with influences beyond our reach that may hamper our advancement. These include: the role of the consumer in buying and discarding plastic products, the development of the value chain in relation to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and the development in relation to regulations (Chemicals;ECHA, Food contact materials; EFSA).
In our projects we build in the technical challenges in relation to the other challenges as much as possible.
